NCAA Football Betting Lines

12/22/2006 - Tallahassee, FL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden named Drew Weatherford the starting quarterback for the December 27 Emerald Bowl against UCLA.

Bowden had been indecisive between Weatherford or Xavier Lee on starting the game against the Bruins.

"I've watched him all week, I wanted to let him compete all week to see if I thought there ought to be a change," Bowden said. "After practicing all week I still think he ought to be starting."

Weatherford has completed 156-of-275 passes for 1,829 yards with 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions this year.

"Of course I am really excited to get another opportunity to go out and play and be the starting quarterback at Florida State," Weatherford said. "I am just looking forward to taking advantage of it."
